Day 3, 28 November 2013
This side event will be an informative full day trip with the research vessel Belgica to the Belgian wind farms. We will leave in the morning from Brussels and travel by bus to the coast. From there we will start a tour to the Belgian wind farms. On board there will informative presentations and demonstrations about the wind farms and the environmental monitoring. The number of places for this event will be limited. Participants will be accepted on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.
8h00: departure in Brussels (in front of the RBINS)
8h00-10h00: bus trip to Zeebrugge
10h00-10h30: embarkation on the RV Belgica
10h30-12h30: sampling activities and presentations
12h00-13h00: lunch
13h00-14h30: presentations and transit to the Belgian wind farm area
14h30-15h30: loop inside the wind farm area
15h30-17h30: onboard presentations and transit back to Zeebrugge
18h00-20h00: bus trip back to Brussels
This programme is weather permitting. The final go or no go will be decided on Wednesday November 27th and will be communicated during the conference. In case we will not sail out, there will be a back-up programme.
