Welcome to the homepage of TILES, a strategic research network funded under the Brain-be programme of Belgian Science Policy.

TILES was funded under the call ‘Sustainable management of mineral and geological resources’. Research anticipates on Europe’s Raw Materials Initiative, Marine Strategy Framework Directive, Spatial Planning and Integrated Coastal Zone Management.

The Belgian and southern Dutch part of the North Sea were targeted where significant volumes of sand are stored in the ebb delta of the estuaries and in sandbanks located farther seaward.
